What's New for 2020?
Subaru Outback rolls into the CA north country all-new, from its body panels down to its chassis. For one, Subaru built it on its new Global Platform, resulting in a drive that's quieter, more secure, and more dynamic.
Secondly, the base SUBARU BOXER engine got a power upgrade, to 182 horsepower, and an energetic 176 pound-feet of torque backs it. A new engine option, a turbocharged 260-horsepower, 2.4-liter SUBARU BOXER, joins the lineup, too, ready to shell out 277 pound-feet.
Third, you can find a lot more technology. For example, advanced adaptive cruise control is all-new, as is its lane-centering capabilities, and together, they reduce steering, braking, and throttle effort while helping keep safe distances from other vehicles. For another instance, Subaru updated its STARLINK Safety and Security suite, offering more remote service features. Finally, but not all, a massive tablet-sized 11.6-inch STARLINK touchscreen is available -- control of your connectivity and entertainment within easy reach and clearer than ever.
Overall, the Subaru Outback design's more refined than before. Expect thicker, more durable panel surfaces, an elevated rear gate height, a more dynamic silhouette, wider fenders, a striking hexagon-shaped grille, ruggeder front cladding, and, on all trims save the base model, standard corner LED fog lights. Bring standard roof rails, integrated crossbars, and enhanced tie-downs into the mix for a winning combination of utility and bold looks.
