Redding Subaru Supports Grand Oaks Elementary School - Joshua S
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Redding, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Redding Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Redding Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/16/2025, Redding Subaru donated 120 coats to Grand Oaks Elementary School. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

We are grateful for the care shown by Subaru and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in providing blankets and care kits to our patients receiving treatment. I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional service Redding Subaru provided me during a difficult time. Our salesman Nick very patiently worked with my husband and I for 6 months on getting our new 2025 outback. I was so excited when finally we were able to purchase it and may 23rd we picked it up. Only 3 hours later we were rear ended and my beautiful new Outback was in the shop to get repaired. When Tonya called to schedule a Love encore Redelivery appointment, I told her what had happened to my new car, she was so sympathetic and caring. When I told her how sad I was because I was going to have to cancel a trip that I had planned for months to attend a dear friends wedding as well as a family reunion she really went above and beyond! When she told me that they were able to arrange for me to drive one of their loaner cars so I could still go on my trip I was just speechless! I have always felt cared about and supported by the team at Redding Subaru, and the kindness and willingness to help during a difficult time has touched us deeply. A Quilt of Valor – A Heartfelt Tribute - Lynn W
On April 18, 2025, I had the privilege of witnessing a deeply moving gesture of appreciation—one that truly embodies the Subaru Love Promise and its commitment to supporting our nation's heroes. As someone whose life has been personally touched by the service of veterans, I was honored to be part of an event where a local hero was recognized for their military service. When I learned Michael was a veteran, I knew he deserved something meaningful. That’s when the idea of presenting him with a Quilt of Valor was born. Michael the Service manager of Redding Subaru served in the U.S. Air Force from 1981 to 1985, stationed at Lowry Air Force Base and Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, working diligently on A-10 avionics systems. His dedication and service exemplify the quiet strength of our military community. The Quilts of Valor Foundation is a national nonprofit that honors service members and veterans by gifting them handcrafted quilts as a tangible expression of gratitude and healing. The organization began with a mother who wanted to comfort her son after he returned from Iraq, believing that a simple quilt could help lift his spirits. Today, that mission continues—one quilt, one veteran at a time. This quilt was presented not just as a gift, but as a heartfelt symbol of appreciation from all of us who benefit from his courage and sacrifice. Meals One Wheels South Siskiyou provides fresh, nutritious meals and friendly check-ins for homebound seniors in very small rural communities with few resources. Harsh winter conditions including heavy snowfall often present barriers for local seniors. Being selected as one of Redding Subaru’s 2024 Hometown Charities was an honor we’ll never forget. The team at Redding Subaru welcomed us as partners and their enthusiasm turned every test-drive and service visit into a show of community love. Thanks to their partnership during Subaru’s national Share the Love® Event, those routine service visits alone added a significant amount of support for program over what is already provided from the campaign. These are funds that go straight to hot meals and safety checks for older adults in South Siskiyou. This support keeps our wheels—two all-wheel-drive Subarus purchased during the pandemic—rolling up icy driveways to reach seniors who sometimes live miles from the nearest grocery store. When winter storms close roads, the reliability of these vehicles means a warm meal and a friendly knock still arrive on schedule. For home-bound elders who may see no one else that day, a Meals on Wheels delivery is food, a wellness check, and a reminder that their community remembers them. Redding Subaru is part of something even bigger: since 2008, the Share the Love Event has donated nearly $320 million to four national nonprofits—Meals on Wheels America, the ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, and the National Park Foundation—and to more than 2,300 hometown charities nationwide. Subaru’s 2024 campaign alone raised a record $31.7 million, demonstrating how one car company’s promise of “More Than a Car Company®” translates into millions of meals, wishes granted, animal rescues, and park preservation projects every year. Every mile you drive and every oil change you schedule during the Share the Love window sends tangible help to programs like ours—Subaru adds a donation for each new vehicle sold or leased, and even $5 for every qualifying service visit. Because of partners like Redding Subaru, our drivers can keep navigating snow-packed backroads with confidence, delivering nourishment and human connection to the seniors who built this community. That’s a journey worth sharing.
Empowering the Journey: Helping a Solterra owner stay charged - Deborah L
When I first bought my Subaru Solterra from Redding Subaru, I was excited—but also a little nervous. I live in Burney, California, a beautiful but remote area over 60 miles from the nearest public EV charging station. As much as I loved the idea of driving electric, I started to worry that the lack of charging options nearby would make daily life more stressful than convenient. I reached out to Redding Subaru to share my concerns, and to my surprise, they didn’t just suggest charging networks or send me off with a list of options. Instead, they listened—really listened—and told me they’d work with me to find a solution. Shortly after, Kelcie from their team contacted me with a plan. Redding Subaru had partnered with a certified local electrician in Burney to install a Level 2 charging station right at my home. Within just a few days, everything was set up, and now I can charge my Solterra overnight, wake up with a full battery, and hit the road without worry. I can’t express how much peace of mind this has given me. Redding Subaru didn’t just sell me a car—they made sure I could actually enjoy owning it. Kelcie and the team truly went above and beyond, and it made all the difference. Thanks to them, my transition to driving electric has been smooth and empowering. I don’t feel like just a customer—I feel like part of the Subaru family.

By partnering with Redding Subaru and Operation Warm, Grand Oaks Elementary successfully hosted a winter jacket drive that provided warmth to 120 students in need. By combining resources and outreach efforts, we were able to identify students/families facing hardships and ensure they received high-quality jackets just in time for the cold season. This collaboration addressed an urgent need and demonstrated the powerful impact of working together to support our youth.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Subaru Loves Pets: Charlie Brown’s Journey Home - Annie R
This October, during our Subaru Loves Pets Free Adoption Event, something truly special happened—Charlie Brown, a sweet 50-pound pittie mix with the biggest heart, finally found his forever family. Charlie Brown was one of the shelter dogs who participated in our summer youth program, Camp Love-A-Pet, where young campers spent two weeks showering him with love and teaching him basic commands. His gentle spirit and joyful personality quickly won over the hearts of campers and staff alike. Shortly after camp, Charlie Brown was adopted, but heartbreakingly, the match wasn’t quite right, and he was returned to the shelter. Even though we were saddened, we held onto hope, knowing his perfect family was out there. Thanks to Subaru Loves Pets, Charlie Brown got another chance, and this time, he found the family meant just for him. Subaru’s amazing support didn’t just make a difference for Charlie Brown—it changed his life. Now, he’s finally home, with a family who treasures him. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Subaru, for your unwavering dedication to shelter dogs like Charlie Brown. His journey, from the shelter to a true forever home, is proof of the powerful impact you have. We are so grateful to Subaru for being part of our mission and for creating second chances that mean the world to animals in need in our community.
